Beverly Scholar
Beverly is a Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis trainer as well as a Wellness Consultant. Known for her ability to make difficult movement easy to learn and a joy to do, she has a way of putting her clients at ease, while building self awareness and confidence. Though she is playful in class, she is a seasoned teacher with a keen eye for body alignment. Because she carefully guides and corrects as she teaches, improvement is rapid. She knows how to bring out the best in each person. Whether you take Gyrotonic training privately with Beverly, or take her Gyrokinesis classes, you'll definitely see and feel results. Besides training, Beverly has a background in the Healing Arts. Her work also includes Acupressure Energy Balancing, Nutritional Counseling, and Emotional Stress Release. Christina Gere
Christina was introduced to Pilates in 1995 in Del Mar, California, and used it as an athletic performance enhancement while training for a marathon.
Years of studying Eastern healing traditions as well as many non traditional esoteric modalities such as Thai massage, Scaravelli yoga, Tai-Chi & QiGong, Vipassana meditation and‘Optimum Health’ nutritional studies cultivated her personal philosophy on health: Pilates and Yoga is a high-energy partnership of physical and spiritual exercise techniques to revitalize the mind and body.
She received her Pilates certification in summer 2004 from Susan Branum and Mercy Sidbury through Yoga in Motion Studio in Napa, California. Susan Branum was certified by Physical Mind Institute under the direction of Michele Larsson and Madeleine Black in San Francisco.
Gretchen Turzo
Gretchen Turzo is an ITT certified Pilates instructor who trained with some of the leading Pilates professionals in the Bay Area including Madeline Black, Jean Sullivan, Debra Schubert, Jorg Chabowski and Leah Putnam. At a young age, Gretchen was a competitive gymnast later moving on to dance, yoga, and competitive sports. She has found her calling as a Flying Trapeze artist and Pilates and Gyrotonic instructor in the Bay Area. Gretchen truly enjoys working with others as they learn mind-body awareness and use it to further their health and life endeavors. Since becoming a Mama, Gretchen has added a specialty in working with Pregnant and Postpartum Mamas to strengthen and heal our mama bellies and bodies.
Rose Thomas
Rose Thomas became an ITT certified Pilates instructor in 2005, and has trained with Madeline Black, Jean Sullivan, Debra Schubert, Jorg Chabowski, and Leah Putnam. She is currently studying for her ITT Masters Instructor certification under Madeline Black. Rose’s fitness background started 30 years ago in martial arts--she has earned black belts in Tang Soo Do and Tae Kwon Do, and was a lead instructor for a Tae Kwon Do club of more than 100 members in the early 80’s. She has been active in various physical pursuits since then, including biking, hiking/backpacking, weight lifting and group fitness classes, and currently has a consistent Iyengar yoga practice.
Rose works closely with her clients and tailors each session to their particular needs, addressing both long-term goals and immediate/acute issues, identifying disfunction and consistently working towards correcting imbalance. Her overall goal is to provide clients with the tools and training to move confidently, freely, and pain-free in their daily lives.
